Do you know Batam? The Batam island in Riau Islands Province of Indonesia, known for its free trade zone area as part of the Sijori Growth Triangle, is located 20 km (12.5 miles) off Singapore’s south coast. The 415 km² (160 miles²) island has a population of 713,960 in December 2006. Batam has population of 713.960 (as of 2006). Located close to Singapore and endowed with a much cheaper labour force, several Singaporean companies have established factories in Batam. Do you ever hear about Medan city? Which it is as the one from many largest cities in Indonesia? Medan is the capital of the province of North Sumatra, Indonesia. Located in the northern part of the province along the coast, Medan is the third largest city in Indonesia. The city is bordered by Deli Serdang Regency to the east, south, and west, and the Strait of Malacca to the north. The city is Indonesia’s third most populous after Jakarta and Surabaya, with approximately 2.5 million people.

There are many old buildings in Medan that still retain their Dutch architecture. These include the old City Hall, the central Post Office, the Water Tower, which is Medan City’s icon, and Titi Gantung (a bridge over the railway).

Surabaya (formerly spelled as Soerabaja) is Indonesia’s second-largest city, and the capital of the province of East Java. It is also one of the biggest cities in Southeast Asia. It is located on the northern shore of eastern Java at the mouth of the Mas River and at the side of the Madura Strait. Known as the city of heroes, because of its heroic role in the history of Indonesia. In 2007, the population of the city is approximately 3 million.

What do you want to know about a little information of Jakarta? Jakarta (also DKI Jakarta), is the capital and largest city of Indonesia. It was formerly known as Sunda Kelapa (397-1527), Jayakarta (1527-1619), Batavia (1619-1942), and Djakarta (1942-1972). Located on the northwest coast of the Java Island, it has an area of 661.52 km² and an official population of 8,389,443 (2000). Jakarta currently is the eleventh largest city in the world by population. Has large of 750.28 km² (290 sq mi) for the city only.

Bandung is the capital of West Java province in Indonesia, and the country’s fourth largest city. Located 768 m (2,520 ft) above sea level and has total of area of 167.67 km² (64.74 sq mi). Bandung has relatively year-around cooler temperature than most other Indonesian cities. This topology provides the city with a good natural defense system, which was the primary reason of Dutch East Indies government’s plan to move the colony capital from Batavia to Bandung. But, now Bandung is very crowded with high total population of 2,510,982 (2004 data).

The Story about Yogyakarta city is: Yogyakarta (also Jogja, Yogya, Jogjakarta) is a city in the Yogyakarta Special Region, Indonesia. It is renowned as a center of classical Javanese fine art and culture such as batik, ballet, drama, music, poetry, and puppet shows. It is also famous as a center for Indonesian higher education. Yogyakarta was the Indonesian capital during the Indonesian National Revolution from 1945 to 1949. It is as the capital city of Special Region of Yogyakarta province. Total large of area is 32.8 km² (12.7 sq mi) and has 511,744 of population (2004).

Yogyakarta has many modern lifestyle shopping centres likes: ambarrukmo plaza, malioboro mall, galeria mall, saphir square, and jogjatronik mall. While the city sprawls in all directions from the kraton, the core of the modern city is to the north, centering around the site of a few buildings with distinctive Dutch colonial-era architecture and the contemporary commercial district. Jalan Malioboro, with rows of sidewalk vendors and nearby market and malls, is the primary shopping street for tourists in the city, while Jalan Solo, further north, is a shopping district more frequented by locals. At the southern end of Malioboro, on the east side is the large local market of Beringharjo, not far from Fort Vredeburg a restored Dutch fort.

Nusa Dua is an enclave of large international 5-star resorts in south-eastern Bali. It is located 40 kilometres from Denpasar, the provincial capital of Bali.

Nusa Dua was the location of the 2007 United Nations Climate Change Conference between 3 December and 14 December, 2007.

Immediately north of Nusa Dua enclave is the peninsula of Tanjung Benoa that includes less exclusive hotels and Benoa village. A multi-denominational area, it includes a mosque, and Chinese and Hindu temples in close proximity. Much of the beach’s sand was eroded away following the mining of the nearby barrier reef for construction materials.

Kuta is a town in southern Bali, Indonesia. A former fishing village, it was one of the first towns on Bali to see substantial tourist development, and as a beach resort remains one of Indonesia’s major tourist destinations. It is known internationally for its long sandy beach, varied accommodation, many restaurants and bars, and substantial Australian population. It is located near Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport.

Kuta is now the center of an extensive tourist-oriented urban area that merges into the neighboring towns. Legian, to the north, is the commercial hub of Kuta and the site of many restaurants and entertainment spots. Most of the area’s big beachfront hotels are in the southern section of Tuban. Several large hotels are located in this area: the Oberoi Bali, Hard Rock Hotel Bali, the Intan Bali Village, the Legian in Petitenget, the Dewata Beach and the Bali Sani Suites in Berawa.

Bali is an Indonesian island located at 8°25?23?S, 115°14?55?ECoordinates: 8°25?23?S, 115°14?55?E, the western most of the Lesser Sunda Islands, lying between Java to the west and Lombok to the east. With the provincial capital at Denpasar towards the south of the island.

With a population recorded as 3,151,000 in 2005, the island is home to the vast majority of Indonesia’s small Hindu minority. 93.18% of Bali’s population adheres to Balinese Hinduism, while most of the remainder follow Islam. It is also the largest tourist destination in the country and is renowned for its highly developed arts, including dance, sculpture, painting, leather, metalworking and music.
